The Hobbit
The Hobbit
From the story by J.R.R. Tolkien
Dramatized by Markland Taylor
ACT is proud to present a full-length production of The Hobbit.  In the play, "Bilbo, one of the most conservative of all Hobbits,
is asked to leave his large, roomy and very dry home in the ground in order to set off as chief robber in an attempt to recover
an important treasure. It's the last thing that any sensitive Hobbit would want to do, but great benefit eventually results—not only
for Bilbo but for all of the Hobbits who inhabit Middle Earth—and the hearts of those children and adults who continue to enjoy
this kind of magic."

This production will be cast by audition only, and as with all of our classes, there is a tuition to participate IF cast
.

Actor Tuition: $210
The tuition includes 16 weeks of instruction & rehearsals, workshop and training for sword play, 7 performances, and a
script for each student to keep.

Costumes Usage & Make-Up Fee:  $30
Original costumes are being designed and built by ACT for each actor to use, but each student will need to provide his or
her own leotard (body suit), shoes and possibly tights.  (Yes, even some males may need a leotard to work with the
costumes we are making.) The color of the leotard will depend upon the character.

ACT will be providing full make-up on most of the characters, including prosthetics on some actors.  If you are allergic to
stage make-up, please let us know, since that would effect the parts you could audition for.
